Chapter 9: Identifying Goals and Strategies
|
As Americans, upward mobility is something we often hear and
think about. Moving up from humble beginnings can be done, but
it is difficult. In addition to ability, a good deal can be
said for luck and simply being in the right place at the right
time. As you saw in this chapter, talented and good people often
go unrecognized, and hard work is not always rewarded the same.

Then think about what your own goals are in life. What career
would you choose for yourself? Research this career, and discover
what obstacles might stand in your way. How will you overcome
these obstacles? Keep a journal for three pages on the topic,
and be prepared to hand in your journal.
