Chapter 13: Administering a Questionnaire
|
A good education is one thing that can help propel a motivated
individual to prosperity, and yet so many young people in America
seem uninterested in education. For many students, high school
diplomas are conferred as a matter of course, signifying no
great achievement. As you saw in this chapter, more demanding
schools tend to have more successful students. Indeed, success
in education largely depends upon student participation.
Get involved. Learn more about the issue nationally by visiting
the National Center for Education Statistics at www.nces.ed.gov/
Then ask for your principal's permission to distribute a questionnaire
among the faculty and student body. Divide your class into
groups and have each group devise a separate questionnaire.
Ask students and teachers what they like about your school.
What would they change? How much do students at your school
care about their educations? Tally your results and share
them with the class.
